Free-Flite Bicycles Then…

Richard Blumenthal Marietta Head MechanicFree-Flite Bicycles has always been a true family business owned and operated by great people who are as passionate about bicycles and cycling as you are (that's Marietta Head Mechanic Richard Blumenthal on the right)!

I opened Free-Flite with my father in a small 1,500 square-foot building in Marietta, Georgia in 1977. We actually started as a skateboard shop, adding bicycles to our line-up in 1978.

…And Now

Today, Free-Flite Bicycles has grown to three stores in convenient locations to serve all our customers. We're proud to be Georgia's largest Trek, Electra and Santa Cruz bicycles dealer. We're also stocked with the latest in parts, components, wheels, car racks, clothing and accessories from the top brands in biking, from Bontrager, CycleOps, Garmin, Giro, Light & Motion, Louis Garneau, Park Tool, Pearl Izumi, Saris, Shimano. SRAM and Yakima–to name only a few.

Our stores are inviting, bright, clean and neat, and all our associates are cyclists and love helping others discover this wonderful sport. Parking is easy at all our locations. Plus, there's ample space for test rides.

Carrying on the family tradition, my wife Christine now does all our accounting; my son Daniel Jr., who has worked here since he was 15-years-old, handles many day-to-day responsibilities at the stores; and my daughter Amanda assists Christine with bookkeeping and is beginning to help with marketing. We all look forward to meeting you in our stores. Enjoy this photo tour of our Marietta, Georgia store!

Our Commitment to You

When we opened Free-Flite Bicycles, we knew our success would depend upon not only the quality of our products, but more importantly on the quality of the relationships we built with our customers. Today, that commitment to customer service is more important than ever. In fact, it’s the most important thing we offer — our commitment to you. Our staff of cyclists is eager to share its collective cycling knowledge and enthusiasm with you, and is dedicated to making sure your experience is the best it can be.

Our passion comes from being able to share this great sport with you! When you purchase a bicycle, component or accessory from Free-Flite Bicycles, you get not only a great product, you get quality care and friendly, expert service like no other shop around. We guarantee it.

Our specialty is helping customers choose the right bike(s) and gear for their cycling interest. We carry bicycles in every category from 12-inch kids' bikes, to top-of-the-line road and mountain bikes, to casual and fun everyday bicycles for riding around or to work. We're also proud of our top-notch service departments run by people that care for your bike like it was their own.

Free-Flite's New Bike Guarantee

Purchase any new bicycle from Free-Flite Bicycles and try it out. If, within 30 days of purchase, you don’t think it performs as it should–or if it turns out that it’s just the wrong bike for you–bring it back. We’ll exchange it for an equally valued bike of your choice. No hassles, no questions asked.

Our Commitment to Cycling

Free-Flite Bicycles proudly provides neutral technical support (fixing the bicycles of any rider who needs it during the rides), for the the MS 150, Tour de Cure, Six Gap Century and other popular local rides, races and events. We also sponsor the MS150, Team in Training, Six Gap Century and numerous other centuries and charity rides.

Free-Flite Bicycles has been a sponsor of the North Atlanta Racing Club since 1983 and also sponsors three factory-backed regional mountain-bike teams. Free-Flite has for years sponsored The North Atlanta Riding Club, Free-Flite Triathlon Team, and a Masters racing team on the road.

Free-Flite Bicycles is a member of both the North Georgia Bicycle Dealers Association and National Bicycle Dealers Association. I've served the industry as a member of the BOD for the National Bicycles Dealers Association for the past 16 years. I served as President from 2010 through 2012. I'm currently the president of Georgia Bikes and Secretary/Treasurer of Bike Cobb. I'm also the director for the newly formed NICA Georgia association (I'm also still riding as much as I can and was fortunate to recently win the Georgia State Masters Road and Criterium Championships).

The Cycling Community

As you can see, Free-Flite is into giving back to the community and cycling! We've also donated over 30K to our local SORBA/IMBA chapter to build and maintain the area's most-ridden trail system. And we were the first and only store to write a 5K check to assist NICA Georgia in getting started.

Free-Flite Bicycles is proud to play a part in the Greater Atlanta and Georgia Cycling Communities. If you think you, too, might like to play a part, registration applications are available at each of our stores. Or, you can contact the following organizations:
